Deadly Dhaka blaze prompts calls for government action on building safety

Following the tragic fire that broke out in a commercial region in Old Dhaka,  Bangladesh, which killed at least 70 people, experts are calling on the Bangladeshi government to enforce its building code and safety regulations in order to avoid more preventable disasters in the future. They are highlighting the need for the robust monitoring of building safety conditions in the housing industry, pointing to the Bangladesh Accord as the example to aspire to.
